That tradition continues today through opportunities like the Choose Ohio First (COF) Scholarship Program, which can award up to $5,000 per year to selected incoming students.

As a COF Scholar at Aultman College, you’ll get more than financial support — you’ll gain hands-on experiences, mentoring, and connections that help you build your career from day one.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
- Work-based learning: Explore healthcare careers through real experiences with partners such as Aultman Hospital, Aultman Orrville Hospital, Aultman Alliance Hospital, Altercare, MyCommunity Health Center, and more.
- Personalized mentorship: Get paired with a mentor in your field who can offer career advice, encouragement, and networking opportunities.
- Career exploration: Focus your learning on leadership, research, or specialized healthcare interests that align with your goals.
How to Apply
To be considered for a Choose Ohio First Scholarship, you must:
- Apply to Aultman College for the fall semester and be accepted into one of the following programs:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Associate of Applied Science in Radiography
- Medical Assisting Certificate
- Complete the Choose Ohio First Scholarship form to show your interest.
- Submit your FAFSA and list Aultman College.
- Be an Ohio resident.
Academic requirements:
- First-time freshmen: minimum 3.2 GPA and 23 ACT/1140 SAT
- Transfer students: minimum 3.0 GPA (with at least 6 transfer credits)
Keep Your Scholarship Going
You can renew your scholarship (up to $5,000 each year) by:
- Maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Submitting an updated FAFSA each year
- Staying engaged in your mentoring and work-based learning experiences
